We are in a period of significant transition, a new era where AI has become an integral component of photography. The structure and very nature of photography (including humanity) are being profoundly affected and are moving into the future in a worth watching way. This is like when computers and photo editing software began to play a role in photography during the 80s and 90s, and after the Y2K crisis, becoming cutting-edge tools and a new wave of power offering creative choices for human photographic works—as if history is repeating itself.

Dansoung Sungvoraveshapan created a stunning variety of surrealistic photographic work. His construction of elements into photographic work used noteworthy methods, combining traditional photographic experimentation with the use of computer photo editing programs, which were very new at the time.

Whether the "Last Homo Sapiens" series, which involved editing various types of photographs with computer programs, depicting a crucial turning point for humanity, the near collapse and loss of humanity in the early 2000s; or the "Time Delayed" series, an experimental photographic work piece using CCTV camera signals transmitted to an Amiga Commodore computer, resulting in distorted images akin to strange dreams; or "Eyes Mind Self," created with double exposure techniques using a Polaroid camera, combining ordinary objects linked to the artist's framework of thought and consciousness, resulting in works as surreal as those created with computer editing or generative AI.

Dansoung Sungvoraveshapan, an artist and photographer who blends painting and photography, reflects the essence of the era, social conditions, and environmental issues through his work, along with diverse forms of photographic experimentation. He was one of the first Thai photographers to apply digital technology to photographic works as early as the 90s.
